Things aren’t looking good for swimming in the water off the shores of Port Burwell ahead of this long weekends BeachFest celebrations.

In routine beach water testing this week, Port Burwell Provincial Park beach and Port Burwell East Beach tested as red. High levels of bacteria have been reported by Southwestern Public Health and its encouraged to avoid swimming in the water.

This is now the second time in a span of two weeks that the health unit has found bacteria in the water. The health unit will provide regular updates of water tests on their social media as well as their website.

You can also reach them by phone at 1-800-922-0096 to check on the safety of bacteria levels before heading out this long weekend.
