Norfolk County has launched a new mobile app designed to help residents keep track of the waste collection schedule and learn more about what items can be recycled.

In a release the County says by using the Recycle Coach app, residents will have instant access to their area’s collection schedule, personalized reminders, key event dates (such as bulky item pickup) as well as a powerful search engine that provides information on the proper sorting of waste and recycling.

The app will also allow County staff to communicate directly with the community about waste management program or scheduling changes.

By putting this information directly into the pockets of residents, Norfolk County will be able to free up advertising resources – meaning the launch of the app comes at no extra cost to the taxpayer.

The app is available on the iTunes Store and the Google Play Store, and is free of charge.
