May 8, 2020 may have set a weather record in Tillsonburg, Ont.  The day started with an early morning temperature of -2C.  The normal low for May 8 is +7C.  The normal high for this date is 18C.  With a forecast high today of only 5C, the temperature won’t reach anywhere near normal today.  According to Environment Canada records (since 1998), the lowest temperature recorded in the area on this date just barely creeped above the freezing mark at 0.7C.

But today’s noontime snowfall, even though it was predicted, still comes as a jolt…and perhaps sets another record or two.  Environment Canada lists 0.0 for both Greatest Snowfall and Most Snow on the Ground records on May 8, again since 1998.  Today’s snowfall probably won’t stick around.

BTW, today’s forecast called for a 60% chance of rain or snow.  I think it can revised to 100%.

I don’t think I’ve ever had hot chocolate on a May 8th…ever!
