Since Friday, the number of active Covid-19 cases under the Southwestern Public Health jurisdiction has dropped from 13 to 11, with both resolved cases occurring in Oxford County, according to today’s data release. Southwestern Public Health covers Oxford and Elgin counties and the city of St. Thomas.

In Oxford County, since Friday, the number of active cases has gone from 9 to 7, with Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra resolving the single cases in each municipality. Remaining cases include 3 in Tillsonburg, 2 in Woodstock and one each in Norwich and Southwest Oxford.

Elgin County has seen no change since Friday. Their total of 4 actives cases involves two each in St. Thomas and Malahide.

Meanwhile, Oxford County has received a donation of 17,000 surgical masks from Bruce Power to help frontline healthcare workers responding to the virus. The donation is part of a commitment by Bruce Power to provide over 100 frontline organizations and Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long Term Care with 1.2-million pieces of personal protective equipment. It’s the largest private sector donation of PPE in Canada to date.
