On Monday, May 11, 2020, at approximately 8:16 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment investigated an assault after being called to a Simcoe Street, Middleton, Norfolk County address.

 

It was determined that two customers shopping in a grocery store became involved in a verbal altercation which turned into a physical confrontation over the failure to wear a facial mask while shopping.

 

The suspect involved left the store in an unknown direction. Police are continuing to investigate and will be reviewing security surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the individual involved in this incident.
