Today’s data release from Southwestern Public Health continues to show what may be a promising trend: fewer cases of the Covid-19 virus in Oxford County, Elgin County and the city of St. Thomas. Two more cases have been resolved since yesterday with a grand total of 4 active cases, 2 each in Oxford and Elgin County.

In Oxford County, the only case in Southwest Oxford has been resolved, leaving Woodstock with the county’s only 2 cases.

In Elgin County, Malahide has seen one of their active cases resolved. That leaves Malahide and St. Thomas with 1 case each.

Let’s hope this trend continues!

Meanwhile, in Oxford County, the Waste Management Facility in Salford will resume regular business hours for both residential and commercial users starting on Tuesday next week (May 19). Customers are still encouraged to follow provincial health guidelines regarding physical distancing and to avoid any non-essential trips to the facility. Delays at the site may be experienced. And do NOT visit the facility if you are sick or experiencing symptoms of Covid-19. The Salford Waste Management Facility had only been open for commercial users since March 21.
