The Woodstock Police Service has laid a stunt driving charge to a local novice driver

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at approximately 10:50 p.m. a Woodstock Police Service officer conducting RADAR traffic enforcement captured a driver travelling 175 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. As a result, the 17-year-old male driver of Woodstock, has been charged with Stunt Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police are imploring the community to please slow down on the roads and talk to the young drivers in your family about the dangers of speeding.

The Woodstock Police Service would like to remind drivers that travelling 50 or more km/h over the posted speed limit can result in arrest for stunt and/or careless driving, a minimum $2000 fine six demerit points, and a court date. Further consequences could be imposed upon conviction.
