The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford County Detachment is seeking the public’s assistance with an investigation after police responded to an animal complaint on Monday, January 18, 2021, on Domtar Line in South West Oxford Township.

 

It was determined that a resident was out walking their dog on Carmeuse Limestone Valley Trial on Sunday, January 17, 2021, when the large husky ran off into a wooded area. The owners searched the surrounding area for their family pet however were unable to locate their dog.

 

On Monday, January 18, 2021, the owners returned to the area where their dog went missing and subsequently located their family pet deceased by an old rail line where they had been walking. The dog appeared to have suffered an injury by an unknown projectile.

 

Police are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
