Environment Canada says a few showers and thunderstorms have formed early this morning across Southwestern Ontario. Some of the thunderstorms will contain heavy downpours which could give local rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm in an hour. Frequent lightning and wind gusts to 60 km/h are also expected in some of the thunderstorms.

Motorists should exercise caution due to sudden low visibility in heavy downpours. Poorly drained sections of highways may be subject to sudden flooding during the thunderstorms. As well people are again being advised to take immediate cover if threatening weather approaches.

This area of showers and thunderstorms is expected to weaken and move to the east of the area later this morning.
