On Sunday, March 8, 2020, at approximately 5:31 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call for a break and enter in progress at a Thames Street South, Ingersoll address.

 

It was determined that in the early morning hours, unknown individuals attended the address and forcibly gained entry into a business. Once inside, they forcibly removed a sterling silver counter stand containing numerous necklaces, bracelets, chains and earrings valued at approximately $12,000.

 

Officers arrived on scene and subsequently spoke to witnesses who indicated that there were two suspects that were involved with the break and enter. Officers then went out on foot and subsequently located one of the suspect’s at an address where they were taken into custody without incident.

 

A second suspect is still currently outstanding and is described as a white male, approximately 5’7″ – 5’8″, 20 to 30 years old with an average build. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt, dark pants, dark baseball hat and white shoes.

 

As a result of investigation, police charged 21-year-old Timothy Daniel MALONEY of Oxford County, Ontario with the following offences:

 

  • Break and enter
  • Possession break in instruments
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Disguise with intent
  • Fail to comply with probation order

 

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Woodstock at a later date.

 

Members of the Oxford County OPP Crime Unit are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
