Tillsonburg Turtlefest 2020 has been cancelled due to the uncertainty resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The family-friendly festival, originally scheduled to take place June 19-20 in Tillsonburg, will now be postponed to at least 2021.

“Cancelling was not a decision that anyone took lightly,” says Mark Renaud, chair of the Tillsonburg Turtlefest Committee. “But we need to heed the direction given by the World Health Organization, the Canadian government and the Ontario government regarding this seriousness of this situation. I commend the team for making this tough but necessary call and look forward to the festival’s return when it can be done safely.”

“We appreciate the understanding of our stakeholders and look forward to coming together as a community to celebrate when the time is right,” adds Turtlefest Event Coordinator Savanna Todd. For the past nine years, Tillsonburg Turtlefest has been celebrated Father’s Day weekend with generous sponsorship and support from area businesses.

“We want to say a heartfelt thanks to the business community, our sponsors and volunteers for supporting this event over the years,” says Todd.
