From Southwestern Public Health’s data release this morning, there’s been an additional case of the virus reported in Oxford County. The new case is in Woodstock and brings the city’s current total of active cases to 2. Oxford County now has 10 cases with the breakdown as follows: 2 each in Blandford-Blenheim, Tillsonburg and Woodstock; 1 case each in East Zorra/Tavistock, Ingersoll, Norwich and Zorra. Southwestern Public Health covers Oxford County, Elgin County and the city of St. Thomas. There was no change in the number of cases in Elgin County, which has a total of 18 cases. By municipality, here are those stats: St. Thomas has 7 cases, 4 in Dutton/Dunwich, 3 in Central Elgin, and Alymer, Malahide, Southwold and West Elgin with 1 case each.

Unfortunately, a new category has been added to Southwestern’s summary on their website. The new category is “Institutional Outbreaks,” which is the number of outbreaks in long-term care homes, retirement homes and hospitals. There is only 1 institutional outbreak reported.
