On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at approximately 8:31 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment were called to investigate after an indecent act a Cedar Drive, Tukey Point, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that a member of the public contacted police after observing an individual acting in an erratic manner and disrobing on the beach while in the presence of several other people.

Officers attended the beach area and located a 28-year-old person from Hamilton, Ontario, that was identified as being severely impaired by illegal drugs and alcohol. Norfolk County Paramedic Services transported the person by ambulance to a local area hospital to be treated. While on scene, officers located a 9-year-old girl that had been at the beach with her mother, who had been taken to hospital.

As a result, the Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk were contacted and arrangements were made to have a family member pick up the 9-year-old child.

The investigation is continuing.
