Woodstock, ON (October 29, 2020) – As a result of a preliminary investigation, the Woodstock Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the Criminal Investigations Brach has charged Robert Brooks, of Woodstock with the following offences:

  • Distribute Child Pornography
  • Possess Images of Child Pornography
  • Access Images of Child Pornography

The investigation is ongoing.

The Woodstock Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet and conducts investigations into Internet Child Exploitation Offences in partnership with numerous Ontario Police Services. This investigation has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

 

Members of the public can report suspicious Internet activities relating to child exploitation to the Woodstock Police Service, or online at www.cybertip.ca. Internet safety tips for parents, children and Internet users are also available on the Cybertip website.

 

As per a court order, a publication ban is in effect under section 517 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
